Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Casual Surveillance Security Guard in Burnaby, BC to protect premises and people across events and daily operations.

You will perform surveillance, patrols, customer service and strict access control while adapting to changing situations, writing clear incident reports, and working with local authorities as needed. The role is casual with flexible shifts and GardaWorld Academy training provided.

Qualifications

• Be legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Hold a valid BC security worker license.
• Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing situations.
• Strong problem-solving skills, communication skills and report writing skills.
• Candidate must be able to comply with workplace safety requirements, including proper respirator fit-testing and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the premises to ensure security.
• Conduct patrols to spot any suspicious activity.
• Address incidents or potential threats quickly.
• Write detailed reports on events and incidents.
• Control access points and check identification.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining security.
• Partner with authorities during serious situations.
