Job summary

FOXVALLEY COUNSELING SERVICES INC. in Canada is seeking a Support Worker to assist families with multiple risk factors, providing non-judgmental supportive services at Isabel's Place and Doreen's Place.

The role involves evening, weekend and overnight hours to help with bedtime routines, parenting support, and connecting families to community supports. Candidates should have Grade 12 or equivalent, current First Aid/CPR, trauma-informed experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalency.
• Current First Aid and CPR.
• Knowledge and experience working with families who have experienced trauma, addictions, emotional and mental challenges.
• Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture and historical trauma.
• Conflict resolution skills.
• Drivers license and appropriate insurance coverage to transport families.
• Criminal record check including vulnerable sector check required upon hire.
• Availability to work evenings, overnights, and weekends is required.
• Shifts are typically scheduled in advance and are 8 hours in length.
• tax exempt if qualified.

The Support Worker will have a diverse skill set to provide support and guidance to families with multiple risk factors. The Support Worker provides non-judgmental supportive services to families working with Foxvalley Counselling Services Inc., at Isabel's Place. Support Workers work non-traditional hours which may include evenings, weekends and overnights supporting families with tasks such as: bedtime and school routines, parenting, life skills, and connecting with formal and in-formal supports in the community to address addictions, traumas and domestic violence issues. Doreen's Place is a program that advocates for reunification of families and provides them with a safe and sober living environment.
