Job summary

Fraser Health is seeking a Casual Speech Language Pathologist to join the Rehabilitation team at Peace Arch Memorial Hospital in White Rock, BC. You will provide speech language pathology services in acute care, assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to support communication and swallowing outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be currently registered with CHCP BC including applicable College certification(s).
• Knowledge of dysphagia assessment and therapy.
• Ability to work within a patient-centered care model.

Responsibilities

• Provides speech language assessment of the patient's communication, speech and swallow functional abilities, needs, and goals.
• Develops evidence-based intervention plans and goals.
• Educates patients and caregivers regarding self-management and health promotion.
• Collaborates with the interprofessional care team for care planning and coordination.
• Maintains patient records and supports quality improvement activities.
• Provides supervision and guidance to assistants as needed.
