Job summary

School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) is seeking casual bus drivers to support student transportation in the Fraser Lake area. This casual role has no guaranteed hours and requires a Class 2 license with air brake endorsement, plus several safety certificates.

The successful candidate will operate buses on scheduled routes, transport students on trips, and perform daily inspections while keeping open communication with students, parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate).
• Valid BC Class 2 Driver's License with air brake endorsement and a clean driving record.
• Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR training.
• WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures.
• Defensive driving training or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 6 months of successful experience operating Class 2 or higher vehicles in all seasons.
• Criminal Record Check required through the CRRP.

Responsibilities

• Operating school buses on regular and scheduled routes.
• Transporting students for curricular and extra-curricular trips.
• Conducting daily inspections and preventative maintenance checks.
• Maintaining positive communication with students, parents, and school staff.
