CHIMO Youth Retreat Centre is seeking Program Facilitators to support our Youth in Transition program. You will lead engaging drop-in sessions, welcome participants, and staff the help desk to assist with housing, employment, and education steps.
A passion for youth and community well-being is essential. We value warmth, steadiness, and humour, and encourage staff to take ownership as Champions in chosen focus areas such as housing or financial literacy.
CHIMO: Where What You Do Matters for A Lifetime.
FT and Casual Includes some evenings and some Saturdays
Can you hold a room, make people feel welcome, and help with a housing application at the drop-in help desk, all in the same afternoon?
Leaving care at 18 often means facing rent, jobs, bills and loneliness all at once. Chimo's new Youth in Transition (YIT) Program is a place young adults aged 18 to 24 can come for the skills, information and people that make it easier. We're looking for Program Facilitators to make it a place they want to come back to.
Think of the program as a weekly menu of drop-in sessions: a hands-on housing application walkthrough, an honest conversation about substance use and harm reduction, a workshop on healthy relationships and boundaries, practice job interviews, a tax clinic, a ribbon skirt circle. There's food at every session and a help desk six days a week. We open in December.
Good to know: You'll need clear Intervention Record and Police Information (Vulnerable Sector) checks. We provide the training you'll need before you start working with young adults. Driving is an asset, not a requirement.
We believe in supporting the people who make a difference every day. As a member of our team, you'll enjoy:
Job opening remains until suitable applicant is found.
