The Kamloops Libraries team within the Thompson-Nicola Regional District is seeking Casual Pages to create a welcoming environment and provide a superb library experience for all.
Reporting to the Team Lead, the Page ensures shelves are stocked and can direct customers to materials while delivering strong customer service. Shifts vary (day/evening/weekends), with no guaranteed hours, and the position requires a flexible availability per the BCGEU Collective Agreement.

Reporting to the Team Lead, thisposition ensures that materials are on the shelves for customers and staff to find. The Page helps direct customers to the things they want and provides good customer service. Other duties include tidying, preparation of displays and programs, checking in/out library materials, and packing/unpacking shipments. Other responsibilities include cleaning and minor preparation of routine displays of library material, clearing abandoned material from public areas, answering directional questions and referring information questions to appropriate staff, photocopying materials, and checking in/out library materials. The Page also interacts with the public and may occasionally deal with challenging situations.There is also a physical component to this position
The casual Page position requires a flexible schedule, as shifts will vary, including daytime, evening, and weekend work. Work may be scheduled in advance as well as on short notice. There are no guaranteed hours. Availability is required within the Casual Availability Form and changes to availability must align with Article 30 and Appendix 7 of the BCGEU Collective Agreement.

The position is subject to the provisions of the Collective Agreement with the BC General Employees' Union, Local 705.
The Page position is a Pay Grid Level 3 which is $19.70 - $21.75/hour (2025 rates).Non-benefitted staff receive 18.2%-21.2% in lieu ofannual vacation, statutory holidays, sick leave, and benefits as per Article 25.8.
