Job summary

Magic Mountain Childcare is seeking on-call educators to cover shifts when regular staff are absent. We require full-day availability at least three days per week and expect 1-4 shifts weekly on average.

The ideal candidate has strong child development understanding, excellent engagement and communication, and is fluent in English, with Alberta Child Care certification levels 1–3 and current background checks.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Alberta Child Care certification levels 1, 2 or 3 is required or willing to obtain.
  • Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills including basic computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of Alberta child care legislation and licensing regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and implementing engaging programming tailored to the children.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety within the environment.
  • Leading and supporting children in integrated learning and recreational activities.
  • Actively supervising and engaging with children while ensuring their well-being.

Job description

Magic Mountain Childcare is a distinguished early learning institution serving children from 12 months through kindergarten. About the Role

Please note, these are on-call positions where Directors will reach out to employees to cover shifts when regular Educators are absent. We are seeking individuals who have full-day availability at least three days per week. On average, employees can expect to work 1-4 shifts per week, depending on their preferences and the needs of the center.

We are seeking individuals who possess a strong understanding of child development, exceptional engagement skills, and a dedication to fostering positive relationships with both children and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be dependable, adaptable, fluent in English, and exhibit outstanding communication and multitasking abilities. Prior experience is advantageous, and candidates must possess or be willing to obtain Alberta Child Care certification levels 1, 2, or 3, along with current criminal record check (with vulnerable sector search) and first aid certification.
