Magic Mountain Childcare in Alberta is seeking dedicated on-call Educators to cover shifts when regular staff are absent. You will be available for full-day shifts at least three days per week, with typical recall 1–4 shifts weekly.

Ideal candidates have a strong understanding of child development, excellent engagement with children, and the ability to foster positive relationships with families and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Alberta Child Care certification levels 1–3 mandatory or willingness to obtain it.

About the Role

Please note, these are on-call positions where Directors will reach out to employees to cover shifts when regular Educators are absent. We are seeking individuals who have full-day availability at least three days per week. On average, employees can expect to work 1-4 shifts per week, depending on their preferences and the needs of the center.

We are seeking individuals who possess a strong understanding of child development, exceptional engagement skills, and a dedication to fostering positive relationships with both children and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be dependable, adaptable, fluent in English, and exhibit outstanding communication and multitasking abilities. Prior experience is advantageous, and candidates must possess or be willing to obtain Alberta Child Care certification levels 1, 2, or 3, along with current criminal record check (with vulnerable sector search) and first aid certification.

Qualifications

• Prior childcare experience is preferred
• Completion of (or willingness to obtain) Alberta Child Care certification levels 1, 2, or 3 is required
• Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification
• Effective verbal and written communication skills including basic computer literacy
• Knowledge of Alberta child care legislation and licensing regulations would be an asset
