Job summary

Simpcw Resources Group seeks a Casual On-Call Occupational First Aid Level 3 (OFA 3) Medic to provide medical response across Simpcw Territory. This casual, on-call role has no guaranteed hours, with assignments varying by project needs and seasonal demand.

Candidates must be able to work remotely, handle high-pressure situations, and support safety across sites. Ideal applicants hold AFA, S-100/S-185, a clean Class 5/7 licence, and have at least 6 months ofMedic experience.

Qualifications

  • Valid Advanced First Aid (AFA) is required.
  • Valid S-100 and S-185 certifications; PCST preferred.
  • Valid Class 5 or Class 7 Driver's Licence with clean record.
  • Minimum six months of Medic or emergency response experience.
  • Strong knowledge of first aid, emergency medical response, and patient care procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stay calm and effective in emergencies.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Physically fit for remote locations, rugged terrain and varying weather.

Responsibilities

  • Administer immediate first aid and emergency care following protocols.
  • Assess injuries and illnesses and provide appropriate treatment.
  • Maintain detailed patient assessments, treatment records and reports.
  • Maintain safety forms, inspections and documentation via safety apps.
  • Ensure medical supplies and treatment areas are stocked and ready.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, safety personnel, clients and project teams to support safe work environments.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring safety procedures and emergency plans.
  • Communicate incidents and medical requirements to management and emergency services.
  • Participate in drills, training and safety meetings.
  • Promote health, safety and wellbeing across operations.

Simpcw Resources LLP is seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and enthusiastic Casual On-Call Occupational First Aid Level 3 (OFA 3) Medic to join our team. Reporting to the Medic and Security Manager, the OFA 3 Medic provides medical response services in support of projects and operations throughout Simpcw Territory and surrounding regions.

This is a casual, on-call position with no guaranteed hours. Work assignments are dependent on operational requirements, project demands, and client needs. Successful candidates may be scheduled consistently for extended periods during busy operational seasons or project activity, followed by periods with limited or no scheduled work. Flexibility and availability for short-notice assignments are essential in this role.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
  • Valid Advanced First Aid (AFA)
  • Valid S-100 and S-185 certifications; PCST certification is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 or Class 7 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum six (6) months experience working as a Medic or in a related emergency response role.
  • Strong knowledge of first aid, emergency medical response, and patient care procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, composed, and effective in high-pressure situations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in remote locations, rugged terrain, and varying weather conditions.
  • Previous experience supporting BC Wildfire Service, Trans Mountain, industrial projects, pipeline operations, forestry operations, mining and exploration projects or remote worksites is considered an asset.
  • Reliable, professional, adaptable, and dependable with strong organizational skills.
In this role you will:
  • Administer immediate first aid and emergency medical care in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess the nature and severity of injuries and illnesses and provide appropriate treatment and care.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient assessments, treatment records, and incident reports.
  • Maintain accurate and timely completion of safety forms, inspections, and other required documentation through company safety apps.
  • Ensure medical supplies, equipment, and treatment areas are fully stocked, organized, and operational.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, safety personnel, clients, and project teams to support safe work environments.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of workplace safety procedures and emergency response plans.
  • Provide guidance and support regarding safety measures, medical preparedness, and emergency response protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with management, emergency services, and team members regarding incidents and medical requirements.
  • Participate in emergency response drills, safety meetings, and training exercises.
  • Promote a culture of health, safety, and wellness across all operations.
  • Work respectfully and collaboratively with all team members, clients, community members, and corporate departments.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices through regular training and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
