Job summary

Black Gold Medical seeks trained medics (AFA or MFR) for seismic exploration projects across Alberta and Saskatchewan. The role involves operating a Mobile Treatment Center, OHVs, and handling medical care for on-site workers in a safety-focused industrial setting.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to meet pre-access testing requirements and complete safety courses.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat on-site workers within your scope of practice.
  • Ensure compliance with OHS, client, and BGM health/safety regulations.
  • Operate MTC and OHVs and manage medical equipment safely.
  • Maintain worker locations via radio monitoring per site standards.
  • Document patient care and incidents in the provided system (SiteDocs).
  • Attend daily health and safety meetings and perform DF R inspections.

Job description

Job Title: AFA/MFR Medic - Seismic Exploration Projects

We are seeking trained medics with either Advanced First Aider (AFA) or Medical First Responder (MFR) certificates for seismic exploration projects across Alberta and Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate will have industrial and remote project experience as a medic or field worker on industrial projects. Candidates with experience in remote environments, whether work or lifestyle-related will find this to be an exciting opportunity to hone your medic skills in a safety focused industrial work environment. You will be trained to operate a Mobile Treatment Center (MTC), off-highway vehicles (OHV) including snowmobiles &/or UTVs as well as how to load/off-load, haul and park OHVs on a trailer. All medics will need to complete and pass competency evaluations prior to deployment to a project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will be accountable and responsible for assessment and treatment of on-site workers within your scope of practice.
  • Ensure compliance with OHS, Client and BGM health and safety regulations.
  • Safely operate all equipment including MTC, off-highway vehicles and medical aid equipment
  • Maintain worker locations through time-controlled radio monitoring per worksite defined standards
  • Report all incidents and patient care using provided documentation platform(s) including SiteDocs.
  • Participate in daily health and safety meetings.
  • Daily Field Reports (DFR), inspections and equipment maintenance are required.
Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced First Aider (AFA) or Medical First Responder (MFR) certificate.
  • Ability to meet pre-access testing requirements for clients
  • Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, Wildlife Awareness, Energy Safety Canada- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Other client specific safety courses may be required
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • An acceptable current Driver's Abstract
  • Off-highway vehicle certificate/training is an asset
Shift Schedule: 2 weeks on/off with paid travel between BGM and the worksite
Compensation: $23.21 to $26.07 per hour. $50 per diem when working out of a hotel. Accommodations provided may be camp or hotel. Regular work days are 12 hours, including 4 hours of OT (eg. $325-$365/day) Group RRSP with up to 3% matching is available without a waiting period.
