Job summary

ParaMed is seeking a Casual NSWOC RN for homecare visits across Windsor. The NSWOC will provide advanced wound, ostomy and continence care, including assessment, management and education to patients, families, and care teams.

The role offers flexible scheduling, supportive colleagues, comprehensive training, mileage compensation and company-provided mobile devices, with opportunities for career advancement within a leading home health care provider.

Qualifications

  • NSWOC certification or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years as a practicing RN, ideally in community or home care.
  • Membership/registration with NSWOC Canada preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct wound/ostomy/continence care and assessment.
  • Educate patients, families, and ParaMed's nursing team.
  • Provide consult/clinical support to the nursing team (direct or remote).
  • Participate in wound/ostomy/continence leadership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Precept ParaMed nurses as required.
  • Follow evidence-based practices and ParaMed policies.

We are currently seeking a Casual NSWOC RN for homecare visits throughout Chatham Kent.

Pay Rate: $79.56 per visit

Availability: This casual position offers flexibility to work around your schedule.

In this community nursing role, as a Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) Nurse and as working as a part of the ParaMed nursing health care team the NSWOC will provide and promote evidenced based advanced wound, ostomy and continence assessment, management and care to all patient groups either through a consultative process or by direct care.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide direct practice to patients requiring wound, ostomy and continence assessment, care and management.

  • Provide education to ParaMed’s nursing health care team, patient, and families.

  • Provide consultation /clinical support to ParaMed’s nursing health care team (direct/or remote) including recommendations for specialty products/nursing care.

  • Participate in wound/ostomy/continence clinical leadership opportunities.

  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Preceptor ParaMed nurses as required.

  • Follow wound, ostomy and continence evidence based clinical best practices and ParaMed policies and procedures.

What you bring:

  • Nurse Specialized in Wound Ostomy & Continence (NSWOC).

  • International Interprofessional Wound Care Course (IIWCC) may be considered.

  • Canadian Nurses Association Certification -WOCC(C) – an asset

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a practicing Registered Nurse ideally in a community setting and/or providing wound/ostomy/continence care to patients (direct care/consultation)

  • Current membership/registration with the Nurses Specialized in Wound Ostomy & Continence Canada (preferred)
