Job summary

ParaMed is seeking a Nurse Specialized in Wound Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) to join our nursing health care team in community/home settings. The NSWOC will provide advanced wound, ostomy and continence assessment, management and care through consults or direct care, across patient groups.

This part-time role offers autonomy, a supportive team, clinical orientation and opportunities for leadership, collaboration with stakeholders, and career advancement within Canada’s leading home health care

Qualifications

• NSWOC certification or eligibility with IIWCC considered
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a practicing Registered Nurse
• Current membership/registration with NSWOCC Canada preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct wound/ostomy/continence care and assessment
• Educate patients, families and ParaMed care team
• Provide consults/clinical support to care teams (direct/remote)
• Participate in wound/ostomy/continence leadership opportunities
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Precept ParaMed nurses as required
• Follow evidence-based practices and policies

In this community nursing role, asa Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) Nurse and as working as a part of the ParaMed nursing health care team the NSWOC will provide and promote evidenced based advanced wound, ostomy and continence assessment, management and care to all patient groups either through a consultative process or by direct care.

• Provide direct practice to patients requiring wound, ostomy and continence assessment,careand management.

• Provide education toParaMed’snursing health care team,patient,and families.

Whatyou bring:

• Nurse Specialized in Wound Ostomy & Continence (NSWOC).

• InternationalInterprofessional Wound Care Course (IIWCC) may be considered.

• Canadian Nurses Association Certification -WOCC(C) – an asset

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a practicing Registered Nurse ideally in a community setting and/or providing wound/ostomy/continence care to patients (direct care/consultation)

• Current membership/registration with the Nurses Specialized in Wound Ostomy & Continence Canada (preferred)
