The City of Saint John is seeking casual, team‑oriented workers to join the Development & Community Service team for the winter months. The incumbents will maintain outdoor and indoor Parks and Recreation facilities as well as trees, parks and landscape maintenance during winter, often under challenging environmental and other working conditions.

A valid driver’s license is required and related post-secondary education or experience in maintenance and construction is preferred.

Position Overview

The City of Saint John is seeking to recruit team orientated, motivated casual employees to join the Development & Community Service team for the winter months. The incumbents will work in a multi-facetted department responsible for maintaining outdoor and indoor Parks and Recreation facilities as well as trees, parks and landscape maintenance during the winter months, often under challenging environmental and other working conditions.

Essential Qualifications

The successful candidate will ideally have related post‑secondary education and experience in maintenance and construction work, the aptitude to learn and to adapt to new workplace technologies, and the ability to develop in the municipal public service. A valid driver’s license is also required.
