Job summary

Southern Health-Santé Sud in Steinbach is seeking a Housekeeping Aide to maintain clean, sanitary, and orderly areas within Bethesda Regional Health Centre/Bethesda Place. The role supports environmental services across day, evening, and weekend shifts.

The position is casual, in person, with a 7.75-hour day and base annual hours of 2015. The candidate will need a Class 5 license and the ability to work with chemicals per safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated verbal comprehension and written command of the English language.
• Demonstrated ability to handle chemicals and cleaning supplies as per Manufacturer's directions and facility procedures.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills.

• Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.

• Good work and attendance record.
• Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe and orderly manner. Perform routine housekeeping tasks in all areas of the facility with primary duties of general cleaning.
• Exert initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods; act in line with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies.
• May travel to other regional facilities if required by duties.
• May work occasional evenings and weekends as necessary.
