Upper Canada Child Care is hiring an Assistant Educator for the Buttonville PS location in Markham. This casual supply position requires availability for a minimum of 5 shifts per month and offers competitive compensation with benefits.

The program emphasizes play-based learning, outdoor exploration, and strong child safety protocols. Successful candidates will have a Vulnerable Sector Check, CPR-C/First Aid, and experience with developmentally appropriate practices.

Competenze

• Vulnerable Sector Check (recent)
• Health assessment and immunization per legislation
• CPR-C and Standard First Aid certification (training provided)
• Knowledge of developmental needs of children
• Experience with inquiry/play based program design
• Use of pedagogical documentation is an asset
• Strong written and verbal communication with families
• Physical and emotional stamina to supervise children
• Proficient with Dayforce and Storypark

Mansioni

• Supports operation of curriculum in line with Ministry guidelines
• Participates in professional development, staff meetings, and training
• Engages with children to provide a positive learning experience
• Communicates with parents about the program and child progress
• Completes program charts and daily logs; maintains records
• Uses Storypark for pedagogical documentation

• Guides students and volunteers as needed
