Job summary

Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education (CBVRCE) seeks a Casual Early Childhood Educator to join the Pre-primary Program across multiple schools. Focus on inclusive, play-based learning and collaboration with the Lead ECE to support all children.

Positions are on a casual, on-call basis for the September-to-June period, with 6-hour daily work blocks between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Applicants must provide clear checks and meet release requirements as outlined in the CUPE Local 5050

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Computers for report writing and internet research.
• Valid Standard First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Create an active and dynamic learning environment inclusive of all children.
• Clarify roles with the Lead ECE and establish routines for a positive learning environment.
• Deliver developmentally appropriate programming responsive to children's interests and culture.
• Observe and document children's developmental progress.
• Engage families and communities in the program and communicate openly.
