Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Hermitage, AB is hiring an Early Childhood Educator for casual/substitute shifts. You will work with teachers and families to provide a caring home-like environment for children, with no evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• ECE Level 1 certification or higher (B.Ed./equivalent).
• Meets provincial childcare requirements.
• Current Standard First Aid and infant CPR.
• Immunization and health assessment per local requirements.

• Develop and implement a program aligned with BrightPath’s curriculum to support child development.
• Maintain a classroom environment that protects children’s well‑being.
• Assess abilities, interests and needs; discuss progress with parents and staff.
• Collaborate with co‑workers, management and families.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Educator, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a program in line with BrightPath’s curriculum that supports the development of children.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Assessing the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress with parents and other staff.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
