Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Kitchener, ON is seeking an Early Childhood Educator/Assistant to support teachers and families in providing a welcoming home-like environment for children. This casual/supply role focuses on assisting with classroom activities and ensuring child well-being.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and Early Childhood Assistant Certification or be a Registered ECE.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required; Early Childhood certification or ECE registration preferred.
• Experience in planning and implementing programs in a childcare setting.
• Must meet provincial childcare employment requirements and health standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instruction in the classroom.
• Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe classroom environment.
• Establish collaborative relationships with staff, management and families.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as needed.
• Support teachers in daily classroom routines and activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Educator/Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with instruction in the classroom.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School/Equivalent required, Early Childhood Assistant Certification, or Registered Early Childhood Educator
• Must meet province requirement for childcare employment
• Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
• Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements
• Experience in planning and implementing programs.
