Job summary

Karis Disability Services seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. You will help with daily living, promote independence, and support skill development while honoring each person’s rights and preferences.

Flexible schedules and multiple locations are available. The role may include travel to different community sites, with a focus on respectful, person-centered care and community integration.

Qualifications

• Experience in direct support roles preferred (3–6 months)
• Must have a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• Access to reliable transportation to support community-based services

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL

Direct Support Professional (DSP) employees work with people who experience developmental disabilities as they live in their homes and communities. This position assists people in their daily life, working with them and their connections to ensure that they can live fully in the community. Direct Support Professionals recognize people's rights to direct their life, understanding that each person has unique gifts and needs, and they support people to learn skills for their own growth and development.

Requirements

• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Preferred

• 3-6 Months Experience (volunteer or employment)
• Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or post-secondary education in a related field
