Job summary

L'Arche Winnipeg invites compassionate Community Support Workers to live, work and learn with adults who have developmental disabilities in our group homes. This casual, part-time role emphasizes daily living support, safety, personal care, and meaningful community involvement.

You will help with ISPs, documentation, medication administration and health monitoring, while fostering dignity, respect and supportive relationships in a home-like setting.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Must provide an acceptable Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

• Build respectful and mutual relationships with Core Members (e.g., listening with empathy, providing emotional support and encouragement, sharing stories and activities together).
• Develop and implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and behavioral support plans.
• Support Core Members in daily living, including personal care, health and safety, and mobility.
• Administer medication and respond to emergencies with First Aid as needed.
• Document financial, medical, log notes, medication, incident reports, assessments, and other records as directed.
• Facilitate community access, advocacy, and social connections for Core Members.

Education

Grade 12 or equivalent
