Job summary

The Good Spirit School Division invites applications for Casual Caretakers across all school communities in the Division. These on-call, as-needed roles support students and staff by maintaining clean, functional and safe facilities in all Division-owned buildings.

Applicants should have Grade 10 education, WHMIS certification, Level 1 OH&S, and a valid driver’s license, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Interviews follow application.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 Education or equivalent.

• Level 1 Occupational Health and Safety.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Take pride in maintaining a clean and operational facility.
• Direct experience in the caretaking field and the ability to work independently and as a team member would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

• The operation and checks of building mechanic systems.
• Minor repairs in and around the school building as required.
• Janitorial duties, snow removal, floor refinishing and upkeep of the school and school grounds.
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Caretaker Coordinator and those listed in Job Description.

Applications are now being accepted for Casual Caretakers in all our school communities across the Division. These positions are on-call and as-needed, offering a flexible opportunity to support students and staff. Caretakers are valuable members of the team who provide for a clean, functional and attractive environment in all facilities owned and operated by the Division. These individuals ensure the students \"come first\" and have the support they need to create a positive, friendly and safe learning environment.

Salary Details

In accordance the CUPE 4784 Collective Agreement.

The Duties Of a Caretaker Are To

• The operation and checks of building mechanic systems.


• Minor repairs in and around the school building as required.


• Janitorial duties, snow removal, floor refinishing and upkeep of the school and school grounds.


• Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Caretaker Coordinator and those listed in Job Description.

The Successful Candidate Will Have The Desired Qualifications

• Grade 10 Education or equivalent.


• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certification.


• Level 1 Occupational Health and Safety.


• A valid driver’s license.


• Take pride in maintaining a clean and operational facility.


• Direct experience in the caretaking field and the ability to work independently and as a team member would be considered an asset
