Job summary

The Good Spirit School Division is inviting applications for a permanent full-time Caretaker & Groundskeeper at Yorkton Regional High School. The role provides for a clean, functional, and attractive environment across all facilities owned and operated by the Division.

Start date is November 2, 2026, with schedule determined by the Division. The successful candidate will maintain facilities, grounds, and equipment, and may require cleaning, maintenance, and use of various tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 10 Education or equivalent.
• A valid drivers license.
• Take pride in maintaining a clean and operational facility.
• Direct experience in caretaking and ability to work independently and as part of a team would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide general janitorial care of the school and grounds.
• Sweep, mop, remove garbage, sanitize surfaces.
• General upkeep of the school and school grounds.
• Operate hand tools and power equipment (mowers, leaf-blowers, snowblowers, tillers, tractors).
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Caretaker Coordinator as listed in the Job Description Facilities.

Caretakers are valuable members of the team who provide for a clean, functional and attractive environment in all facilities owned and operated by the Division.

Assignment/Contract

This position is a permanent full-time position of 8.0 hours/day. The position commences November 2, 2026. The work schedule will be determined.

Salary

In accordance the CUPE 4784 Collective Agreement.

The Duties Of a Caretaker Are To

• Provide general care, upkeep, and maintenance. Including but not limited to:
  • Provide general janitorial care of the school.
  • Sweep, mop, removal of garbage, sanitizing of surfaces.
  • General upkeep of the school and school grounds.
  • Operates hand tools and power equipment, including mowers, leaf-blowers, snowblowers, tillers, and tractors.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Caretaker Coordinator and those listed in Job Description Facilities:

The Successful Candidate Will Have The Desired Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 10 Education or equivalent

Salary And Benefits

• The successful candidate will be paid on a monthly basis at an hourly rate from $20.76 - $24.78 with vacation time accrued at the applicable rate.
• Benefits include participation in the Saskatchewan School Board Association (SSBA) Employee Benefits Plan if eligible, the Municipal Employees' Pension Plan, if enrolment is chosen and opportunities to attend professional development seminars.
