Job summary

Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking reliable and flexible Casual Caretakers to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming environments for students and staff. This casual role offers flexibility to pick up shifts as they become available, with a focus on high standards and dependable service.

As a Casual Caretaker, you will perform cleaning duties across classrooms, washrooms, hallways and common areas, following established schedules and safety procedures, while contributing to a positive school

Qualifications

• WHMIS and First Aid certification is an asset.
• Experience using floor scrubbers and polishers is an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
• Reliable, flexible, and willing to support schools as shifts become available.
• Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the school facilities (washrooms, floors, walls).
• Mop, sweep, wax and vacuum floors.
• Remove garbage and support custodial tasks.
• Follow health, safety and cleaning procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns and safety hazards promptly.

Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking reliable and flexible Casual Caretakers to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming environments for our students and staff. As a Casual Caretaker, you'll have the flexibility to pick up shifts as they become available, providing an opportunity to contribute to our schools while maintaining a flexible schedule and work‑life balance.

What You'll Be Doing

Maintaining the cleanliness of the school through:

• Cleaning of the washrooms
• Mopping, sweeping, waxing, and vacuuming floors
• Washing walls and lockers
• Removal of garbage
• Other related duties as assigned
