Job summary

The Crescent Hotels & Resorts in Saint John, NB is seeking banquet servers to set up rooms, greet guests, and serve food and beverages at events. You will attend roll calls, ensure service standards, and work with the supervisor to meet guest expectations.

We value a self-starting, professional team player with good communication, basic food/beverage knowledge, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications

• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Can communicate well with guests and be a team player.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations and service standards.
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs and operate beverage equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet room according to Supervisor instructions, including linen, service ware and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function details and guest expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve food and beverages as directed, maintaining consistency and clearing dishes appropriately.
• Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction throughout the event.

Here's what you'll be doing:

• Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor to include linen, service ware and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and hotel expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the Supervisor to ensure consistency throughout the banquet. Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal or function.
• Replenish beverages as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction.

• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift. Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts that may include days, evening, weekends, holidays.
