Job summary

A health care organization in Burnaby is seeking an Audiometric Technician for a Casual role. The position involves assisting in audiological evaluations, conducting tests, and providing education. Qualifications

  • 1 year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid Class V B.C. Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Audiologist during hearing and hearing aid evaluations of very young or difficult to test children.
  • Conduct general audiometric tests following established protocols.
  • Make arrangements for audiometric screening activities in various settings.
  • Remains current with hearing aid and FM technology and instructs clients on usage.
  • Perform fitting and modification of ear molds.
  • Complete troubleshooting procedures on client hearing aids.

Skills

General knowledge of audiometric tests
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients
Demonstrated ability to perform Audiometric screenings
Ability to apply behavioural management techniques with children
Basic computer literacy

Education

Grade 12 and a diploma in a health or social services related field
