Job summary

The SSI Group in Ottawa is seeking a Recreation/Leisure Activities Coordinator to plan, organize and promote programs for residents. You will lead individual and group activities, encourage participation, and assist residents during activity time, while maintaining attendance and promoting resident rights.

Collaborating with the Recreations Manager, you will partake in probationary evaluations and ongoing staff training, contributing to a supportive team focused on enriching seniors' daily lives.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience in leisure with seniors.
• Demonstrate organizational, leadership and animation skills.
• Creative and innovative.
• Work as part of a team.
• Capable of adapting to different situations and change.
• Keen interest in working with seniors.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning, organization, promotion and evaluation of activities.
• Animate individual and group activities.

• Participate in departmental staff meetings.
• Participate in in-service training programs.

• Adhere to all policies and procedures of the recreation department.
