Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Montreal is seeking a cashier supervisor to lead daily operations in-store. You will oversee cash handling, assist department manager, and ensure accurate inventories during 30-40 hour work weeks across day and evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of experience as a cashier and leadership skills.
• Ability to supervise department operations and manage purchases.
• Experience with cash handling and store POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform various management activities within the department in collaboration with the Department Manager.
• Ensure the management of purchases, inventories, PLU price lists and sales per hour per person.
• Train, evaluate and motivate team members and manage cash registers operations.

What might a typical day look like?

As cashier supervisor, you will be expected to:

• perform various management activities within the department department in collaboration with the Department Manager;
• in collaboration with the department manager, ensure the management of purchases, inventories, P.L.U. price lists and respect the sales per hour/person in order to ensure business readiness;
• train, evaluate and motivate the members of his team and carry out the various operations related to the accounting of the cash registers (money transfer, deposits, controls, weekly verifications, etc.).
