Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Montreal is seeking a cashier supervisor. You will oversee daily cashier operations, supervise a small team, and ensure smooth service during day and evening shifts.

The role is part-time with 10–24 hours weekly, offering opportunities to grow within the department. As part of the department, you will manage purchases, inventories, PLU price lists, and sales targets per hour per person.

Qualifications

• Minimum of cashier experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a supervisor and desire to advance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform various management activities within the department with the Department Manager.
• Ensure management of purchases, inventories, PLU price lists and sales per hour/person to ensure business readiness.
• Train, evaluate and motivate team members and manage cash registers accounting (money transfer, deposits, controls, weekly verifications).

What might a typical day look like?

As cashier supervisor, you will be expected to:

• perform various management activities within the department department in collaboration with the Department Manager;
• in collaboration with the department manager, ensure the management of purchases, inventories, P.L.U. price lists and respect the sales per hour/person in order to ensure business readiness;
• train, evaluate and motivate the members of his team and carry out the various operations related to the accounting of the cash registers (money transfer, deposits, controls, weekly verifications, etc.).
