Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Canada is looking for a dedicated part-time Cashier Supervisor to support daily operations across day and evening shifts. You will supervise a small team, ensure accurate cash handling, supervise PLU pricing, and contribute to a positive customer experience in a busy retail environment.

The ideal candidate has prior cashier experience, demonstrated leadership, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience as a cashier.
• Proven leadership skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a supervisor is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead department activities in collaboration with the Department Manager.
• Oversee purchases, inventories, PLU price lists and sales per hour.
• Train, evaluate and motivate team and manage cash register accounting (deposits, controls, weekly verifications).

What might a typical day look like?

As cashier supervisor, you will be expected to:

• perform various management activities within the department department in collaboration with the Department Manager;
• in collaboration with the department manager, ensure the management of purchases, inventories, P.L.U. price lists and respect the sales per hour/person in order to ensure business readiness;
• train, evaluate and motivate the members of his team and carry out the various operations related to the accounting of the cash registers (money transfer, deposits, controls, weekly verifications, etc.).
