Slegg Building Materials on Vancouver Island is hiring a cashier to greet customers, assist with product selection and process transactions at the counter. You will help maintain displays and support service standards in a fast-paced retail setting.

The role emphasizes accuracy, friendly interactions, and teamwork across shifts. Shifts run Monday through Saturday with a wage between $20 and $23.50 per hour, plus benefits as described in the store package.

From greeting customers as they enter the store, helping locate products on the sales floor, to processing transactions and returns, the Cashier is an integral part of the team. The shifts are between Monday and Saturday and the wage range is $20 - $23.50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers
• Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities.
• Greet and assist customers with purchases.
• Process all point of sale, returns and payment on account transactions at the cashier counter in an efficient, accurate and friendly manner.
• Maintain product displays on selling floor in immediate area.
• Provide suggestions and recommendations on products and materials.
• General housekeeping duties, including cleaning displays and sanitizing high touch areas and carts.
• Disinfect and clean countertops, phones, and keyboards.
• Disinfecting and puting away returns.
• Cover reception as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
