Job summary

GMS Inc. in Victoria, BC is seeking a Delivery Helper to assist with safe transport and placement of building materials on customer sites. You will work with a team to exceed customer expectations, maintain safety standards, and support dispatch with accurate load handling.

Shifts are Monday to Friday with a pay rate of CAD 22–25 per hour. Must have a valid driver's license (clean abstract preferred), good communication, basic math skills, and ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license; a clean abstract is an asset.
• Effective written and oral communication.
• Basic math skills required.
• Basic hand tool skills.
• Completion of high school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver materials to the assigned area while prioritizing safety.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Deliver materials to customers and maintain safety, service, and efficiency.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Report all accidents or injuries.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Delivery Helper. The Delivery Helper assists with the safe transportation of building materials and the placement on customer job sites. Together with other team members, the Helper works to exceed customer expectations. The shifts are Monday - Friday and the wage range is $22-$25 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
• Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and other trades on job sites.
• Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Report all accidents or injuries.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.

Basic Requirements

• A valid driver's license with a cleandriver's abstractis an asset.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.
• Completion of high school preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs.
• Sitting for long periods.
• Frequently climbing up and downstairs.
• Pulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials between truck and job site.
