Job summary

Farm Boy Inc. in Canada is seeking a personable retail associate who delivers exceptional service and helps create a welcoming shopping experience. You will handle purchases, assist customers with questions, and maintain store cleanliness while following Safety and Health guidelines.

The role requires strong math skills, a team mindset, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Bilingual English/French is an asset, and Smart Serve certification may be required for locations

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
• Retail experience is an asset; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• For locations selling alcohol: minimum age 18 and Smart Serve certification (or willingness to complete).
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and pride in delivering quality results and maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Strong mathematical ability with high accuracy processing transactions and tenders.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with deadlines, standing, lifting, and varied conditions.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, engaging customer service reflecting Farm Boy's standards.
• Greet and assist customers; process purchases accurately and efficiently.
• Scan items, bag orders, and handle tenders per Farm Boy procedures.
• Share product knowledge and answer customer questions.
• Learn and apply product codes for timely checkout service.
• Handle cash and balance tills with accuracy.
• Answer and direct incoming store calls as needed.
• Assist with alcohol sales as applicable and Smart Serve compliance.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas; support general housekeeping.
• Support the team with additional duties as needed.

• Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service that reflects Farm Boy's commitment to the best fresh shopping experience.
• Welcome, greet, and assist customers while processing purchases efficiently and accurately, including scanning items, bagging orders, and collecting tenders using Farm Boy Service Standards.
• Share your knowledge and passion for Farm Boy products while assisting customers with questions and product information.
• Learn and apply product codes quickly and accurately to ensure timely checkout service.
• Handle all cash and tender transactions responsibly, including balancing tills and maintaining payment accuracy.
• Support store operations by answering and directing incoming phone calls as needed.
• Assist with the safe handling and sale of alcohol at applicable locations (Smart Serve certification required or willingness to obtain).
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work, storage, and front-of-store areas through general housekeeping duties, including cart retrieval from the parking area.
• Follow all corporate policies and procedures, with a strong focus on Health & Safety, Food Safety, and proper equipment use.
• Support the team with additional duties on a periodic basis.

• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
