Job summary

Farm Boy is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented team member to support daily store operations and checkout interactions. You will deliver warm customer service, process purchases accurately, and maintain a clean, organized checkout area. Alcohol sales may apply where permitted, with Smart Serve certification or willingness to obtain it.

Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is valued. Prior retail experience is an asset; English fluency is required, and French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is an asset; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• For locations selling alcohol: Smart Serve certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and pride in quality results.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.

• Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service reflecting Farm Boy standards.
• Welcome, greet, and assist customers while processing purchases accurately, including scanning and bagging.
• Share knowledge and passion for Farm Boy products and answer customer questions.
• Learn and apply product codes quickly to ensure timely checkout service.
• Handle all cash and tender transactions with accuracy and balance tills.
• Support store operations by answering and directing incoming calls; keep areas clean and organized.
• Assist with alcohol sales where applicable (Smart Serve certification or willingness to complete).

• Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service that reflects Farm Boy's commitment to the best fresh shopping experience.
• Welcome, greet, and assist customers while processing purchases efficiently and accurately, including scanning items, bagging orders, and collecting tenders using Farm Boy Service Standards.
• Share your knowledge and passion for Farm Boy products while assisting customers with questions and product information.
• Learn and apply product codes quickly and accurately to ensure timely checkout service.
• Handle all cash and tender transactions responsibly, including balancing tills and maintaining payment accuracy.
• Support store operations by answering and directing incoming phone calls as needed.
• Assist with the safe handling and sale of alcohol at applicable locations (Smart Serve certification required or willingness to obtain).
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work, storage, and front-of-store areas through general housekeeping duties, including cart retrieval from the parking area.
• Follow all corporate policies and procedures, with a strong focus on Health & Safety, Food Safety, and proper equipment use.
• Support the team with additional duties on a periodic basis.

• Strong mathematical ability with a high degree of accuracy when processing transactions and handling tenders.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands- on setting that involves multiple deadlines, extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, repetitive movement or tasks, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
