Job summary

Farm Boy Inc. in Aurora, ON, is looking for team members to help create a fresh, friendly shopping experience. You’ll assist customers, support daily store operations, and ensure checkout interactions are smooth and memorable with a customer-first mindset.

You’ll learn product codes, share product knowledge, and handle transactions while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays; Smart Serve may be required at some locations.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is asset; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Smart Serve certification (or willingness to obtain) for locations selling alcohol.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and pride in delivering quality results and maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Strong mathematical ability with accuracy in processing transactions and tenders.
• Comfort with a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service that reflects Farm Boy’s commitment to the best shopping experience.
• Welcome, greet, and assist customers while processing purchases efficiently and accurately, including scanning items, bagging orders, and tender handling.
• Share knowledge and passion for Farm Boy products while helping customers with questions.
• Learn and apply product codes quickly to ensure timely checkout service.
• Handle all cash and tender transactions responsibly, including balancing tills and maintaining payment accuracy.
• Support store operations by answering and directing incoming phone calls as needed.
• Assist with the safe handling and sale of alcohol at applicable locations (Smart Serve certification required or willingness to obtain).
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work and front-of-store areas through housekeeping duties.
• Follow corporate policies with focus on Health & Safety and Food Safety.
• Support the team with additional duties periodically.

• Strong mathematical ability with a high degree of accuracy when processing transactions and handling tenders.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on setting that involves multiple deadlines, extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, repetitive movement or tasks, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
