Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. is hiring a cashier for the GMS Family of Locations in Comox, BC. The role involves greeting customers, helping locate products, and processing transactions and returns at the cashier counter.

Shifts run Monday through Saturday with hourly wages ranging from CAD 20.00 to CAD 23.50. Prior cashier experience is an asset, and strong customer service is required.

Job description

Position Summary

From greeting customers as they enter the store, helping locate products on the sales floor, to processing transactions and returns, the Cashier is an integral part of the team. The shifts are between Monday and Saturday and the wage range is $20 - $23.50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities.
• Greet and assist customers with purchases.
• Process all point of sale, returns and payment on account transactions at the cashier counter in an efficient, accurate and friendly manner.
• Answering phones
• Maintain product displays on selling floor in immediate area.
• Provide suggestions and recommendations on products and materials.
• General housekeeping duties, including cleaning displays and sanitizing high touch areas and carts.
• Disinfect and clean countertops, phones, and keyboards.
• Disinfecting and putting away returns.
• Cover reception as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
