Job Description

The carpenter is responsible for setting, placing, and stripping all formed surfaces.

Required knowledge includes: construction practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and safety.

The carpenter must be proficient at the following tasks: loose and gang form walls, suspended slabs, flatwork, water-retaining structures, architectural exposed, stairs, formwork, and reading blueprints. The carpenter must also possess the mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do materials estimates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of formwork experience
• Experienced with a large general contractor
• Current journeyman carpenter’s certificate; Red Seal is an asset
• Valid EWP and fall protection tickets are a plus
• CSTS 2020 is required
• Valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract preferred
• Some travel to locations may be required
• Knowledge of the safe operation of basic hand and power tools; able to operate required equipment safely and responsibly
• Knowledge of workplace safety, safe lifting and handling procedures, first aid, and CPR
