The Role

As the Journeyperson Carpenter, you are expected to be engaged in our safety program, executing work safely, in adherence with CANA policies and all applicable code regulations and the Act.

  • Construct, fabricate and install concrete forms according to site-specific requirements and job scope.
  • Construct and erect columns, cores, suspended slabs, and stairs.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and properly, including inspection and safe use.
  • Install heating/hoarding, temporary fencing, guardrails, handrails, and barriers as required.
  • Erect scaffold and related support structures as necessary.
  • Read blueprints and follow instructions from supervision.
  • Prepare layout, select materials, and plan work sequences and methods.
  • Install shoring and remove/strip forms upon completion.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.
  • Perform other tasks as required on the jobsite.
  • This position involves physically demanding tasks; candidates should be in good physical condition and prepared to work outdoors in all seasons and weather.
What You Bring
  • Canadian Journeyman Carpentry Certificate and competence in the Carpentry Trade.
  • Experience with wall and slab formwork systems such as Peri and Doka.
  • Valid driver’s license or transportation to project sites.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Understanding of OH&S regulations and ability to find relevant information.
