Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Carpenter for wood framing, finishing, and concrete foundation work on active job sites. You will contribute to productivity and timelines by working safely and to high quality standards, following site plans and safety requirements.

Responsibilities include rough and finish carpentry, concrete form work, and door installations, with certifications in First Aid, CSTS, and Fall Protection. Valid photo ID and pre-employment testing are required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Carpenter Ticket or registered Carpenter Apprenticeship from a recognized provincial training authority.
  • Non-ticketed Carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial carpentry trade.
  • First Aid Level C, Fall Protection and CSTS certifications are required.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must possess a valid government-issued photo ID.
  • Boom/Scissor Lift or skid steer certifications are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Build concrete forms, scaffolding, shelters and other structures as directed by plans.
  • Read blueprints to prepare layouts, select materials, plan sequences and mark materials.
  • Rough and finish carpentry work.
  • Provide concrete support including heating and hoarding.
  • Operate light equipment on site.
  • Install doors, frames, hardware and accessories.
  • Work with the team to complete tasks safely, on schedule and to spec.
  • Check units for level, square, plumb, and correct size and location.

Description

You are an experienced Carpenter with strong commercial carpentry expertise, responsible for wood framing, finishing, and constructing concrete foundations on active job sites. You will contribute to maintaining productivity and project timelines by completing work safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards. This role requires solid technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team while following site plans and safety requirements.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Understands basic commercial concrete forming and general commercial construction practices to accurately build concrete forms, scaffolding, shelters, and other structures
  • Comprehends blueprint readings to prepare layouts including selecting materials, planning sequences, and methods of work, measuring and marking materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions
  • Rough and finish carpentry work
  • Concrete support including heating & hoarding
  • Operation of light equipment
  • Installation of Doors, frames, hardware & misc. accessories
  • Works with the team to ensure tasks are completed safely, correctly, and on schedule
  • Checks completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb, and the right size, shape, and location
Qualifications

  • Non-ticketed Carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial carpentry trade
  • Standard First Aid Level C, Fall Protection and Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) certifications is a must
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Must posses a valid form of government issued photo identification
  • Boom/Scissor Lift or skid steer certifications considered an asset
Work Conditions
  • Regular work week of 44 hours
  • Overtime may be required to meet construction deadlines
  • Work will primarily be outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Must be comfortable working at heights
