Job summary

UDHAY HOMES LTD. in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a full-time carpenter to read blueprints, measure, cut and assemble wood and other materials. The role requires on-site work at the employer's location and starts as soon as possible.

The ideal candidate has a secondary school certificate, some carpentry experience is an asset, and will coordinate site work, estimate costs and ensure codes compliance. Permanent position with a regular 35-hour week.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials like wood and metal.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Schedule and coordinate work on sites.
• Estimate costs and materials.
