Job summary

GORKHALI CONSTRUCTION INC. is seeking a construction worker for a permanent, full-time on-site role at our Surrey, BC site. You will read blueprints, prepare layouts, measure, cut and assemble materials, and assist with building foundations, walls and roof systems.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of experience, a secondary school certificate, and is willing to work at a Canadian job site with required safety gear and on-site tasks.

Qualifications

• Requires Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• 2–3 years of relevant construction experience preferred.
• On-site work with manual measuring, cutting and assembly of wood/steel materials.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
