Job Description

We are seeking a Carpenter & Quality Control Technician to join our Edmonton Homes team. You will ensure our buildings meet high standards, perform general carpentry tasks, and assist in finishing and repairs, contributing to our reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform inspections such as pre-backfill, framing, and mechanical.
  2. Utilize levels, rulers, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying tools.
  3. Coordinate with municipal officials for code compliance.
  4. Educate contractors on best practices and quality techniques.
  5. Train and mentor junior staff.
  6. Document quality checks and follow up on deficiencies.
  7. Work from blueprints and manager instructions.
  8. Perform layout, grading, and install walls, floors, roofs.
  9. Select materials and operate hand and power tools.
  10. Install partitions, doors, windows, and perform surface touch-ups.
  11. Support construction operations and audit installed materials.
  12. Participate in safety programs, conduct safety inspections.
  13. Train staff and contractors on tool use and safety.
Qualifications
  • Over 2 years of carpentry experience or apprenticeship participation.
  • Detail-oriented with organizational and computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Relevant safety certifications.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle access.
Physical Requirements
  • Walk on uneven terrain, climb stairs/ladders, lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Good vision and hearing (aids acceptable).
