Job summary

Window Mart in Edmonton is seeking an experienced carpenter to read blueprints, measure and cut materials, and erect wood-framed structures on site. The role requires 2–3 years of experience, a secondary school graduation certificate, and strong knowledge of building codes.

You will work at the physical location with no remote option, contributing to foundations, walls, floors and finishes across residential or light commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma required.
• 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
