Job summary

yvr exterior ltd in British Columbia is seeking an experienced carpenter to read blueprints and prepare layouts that conform to building codes. The role requires on-site work and 3–5 years of carpentry experience.

You will measure, cut, assemble and install wood and other materials, build foundations, erect walls and roof systems, and install windows and doors while supervising crew members and estimating costs for projects in various facilities.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation is required.
• 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in related carpentry work.
• On-site work only; no remote option.

• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Supervise other workers.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
