Job summary

Jacobson & Greiner Group in Brandon, MB seeks a skilled carpenter to join our team. You will read blueprints, perform general commercial construction, and safely operate scissor lifts and boom lifts to support project milestones.

The ideal candidate holds a Red Seal or is active in an apprenticeship (minimum 3 years), can lift 50–75 lbs, and is hardworking, reliable and willing to work long hours in extreme temperatures. Must wear CSA-approved safety boots.

Qualifications

• Red Seal carpenter certification or active in an apprenticeship program.
• PPE - CSA approved safety boots required.
• Willing to work long hours during busy seasons and in extreme temperatures.
• Capable of lifting 50-75 lbs and handling materials safely.
• Hard working, motivated and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings to determine specifications.
• General commercial construction including framing, boarding, finishing, doors & hardware and ACT ceilings.
• Safely operate equipment including scissor lifts and boom lifts.
• Transport supplies to and from job sites as required.
• Maintain a safe and organized site.
• Follow safety standards and report incidents.
• Perform other duties as required by Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Red seal carpenter or active in apprenticeship program (minimum 3 years experience)
• Possess PPE- CSA approved safety boots
• Willing and able to work long hours during the busy season and during extreme temperatures
• Capable of lifting and moving materials up to and including 50-75lbs
• Hard working, motivated, and reliable
