Job summary

Senior Helpers of White Rock is seeking caregivers to support seniors at home. If you are caring, dependable, and enjoy helping seniors live safely and comfortably, we would love to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation and ability to work evenings/weekends.
• Compassionate, dependable and good communication.
• Experience in healthcare, home care, assisted living, independent living, or nursing is an asset.
• Active BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry registration or equivalent is an asset.
• Negative TB test completed in the past 90 days.
• A negative Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 days.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing or as assigned based on the care plan.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
• Engage clients in conversation and enjoyable activities.
• Prepare meals and help with light household tasks.
• Help clients maintain a safe, comfortable, and clean home.
• Monitor and report any changes in the client's condition to the healthcare team.
• Provide assistance with mobility and transferring patients safely.
• Assist with medication reminders and administration under supervision.
• Provide respectful and compassionate care based on each client's needs.

As a caregiver with Senior Helpers, you will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with seniors and their families while helping improve their quality of life. We will match your skills and experience with the needs of our clients.

HCA's, care aids, private caregivers, LPN's and newly grad HCA's ( with or without BC registry number)are encouraged to apply!

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in healthcare, home care, assisted living, independent living, or nursing is an asset
• Active registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry, active nursing licence, or equivalent qualification is an asset
• Negative TB test completed in the past 90 days
• A negative Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 days
