Qualifications

• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Caring, compassionate, and dependable.
• Willing to learn and develop new skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience in healthcare, home care, assisted living, independent living, or nursing is an asset.
• Active registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry, active nursing licence, or equivalent qualification is an asset.
• Negative TB test completed in the past 90 days.
• A negative Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 days.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with ADLs such as bathing, grooming, dressing or as assigned based on the care plan.
• Providing emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
• Engage clients in conversation and enjoyable activities.
• Prepare meals and help with light household tasks.
• Help clients maintain a safe, comfortable, and clean home.
• Monitoring and reporting any changes in the client's condition to the healthcare team.
• Providing assistance with mobility and transferring patients safely.
• Assisting with medication reminders and medication administration under supervision.
• Provide respectful and compassionate care based on each client's needs.
