Job summary

Senior Helpers Sarnia-Lambton provides one-on-one personal care to help clients remain safe and independent in their home. We tailor care to the area of expertise to the seniors you’ll care for, offering opportunities for professional growth and a supportive team environment.

As a Senior Helpers Caregiver, you will build meaningful relationships, assist with daily living activities, coordinate with families, and contribute to a client’s quality of life through compassionate care in the home

Qualifications

• You are passionate about helping others.
• You enjoy customer service and communicating with clients.
• You want to help your community and make a difference in someone’s life.
• A valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle and proof of insurance.
• Current vulnerable sector check screening and clear background check.

Responsibilities

• Have fun and engaging conversations with your clients to build relationships.
• Participate in clients’ hobbies and activities to support quality of life.
• Prep meals for clients to enjoy.
• Assist with walking, dressing, and activities of daily living.
• Report completed activities and provide updates on client condition and behavior.

What does a day in the life of a caregiver look like? Providing a helping hand.

• Have fun and engaging conversations with your clients to build relationships
• Participate in your clients’ favorite hobbies (scrapbooking, gardening, games, etc.)
• Prep meals for your clients to enjoy
• Assist your clients with walking, dressing, and other daily activities of living
• Report what activities were completed with your clients and provide updates on your clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior
