Our client, a leader in Health Care Facilities provision, has multiple openings for Care Support Assistants across various locations in British Columbia. These roles can be full-time, part-time, or contract.
Summary:
The Care Support Assistant is responsible for following the care plan to assist in the nursing and personal care of residents. This includes activities of daily living, dining services, comfort and companionship, and housekeeping services as assigned.

Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and support to residents, ensuring a warm, safe environment that meets their comfort and welfare needs.
- Support residents in preparing for and attending home events to promote a positive resident experience.
- Act as a resident companion, providing comfort, support, and companionship.
- Practice safe food handling techniques during all food service activities.
- Assist with table/tray preparation, serving beverages and food, maintaining a clean and safe environment using infection control principles.
- Complete laundry and housekeeping duties, including restocking shelves, making beds, and organizing residents' rooms.
- Maintain and safely operate all equipment, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Participate in resident admission orientation and transfer processes.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding resident care and safety issues.
- Transport residents as needed within the facility.
- Report incidents involving residents or team members and complete documentation accordingly.
- Greet visitors positively and offer assistance as needed.
- Handle resident and family concerns courteously, reporting issues to the supervisor.
- Immediately notify the supervisor of incidents that may result in occupational claims or facility concerns, and complete required reports.
- Follow all health and safety policies, working safely to minimize injury risks.
- Assist with lifts and transfers, including the use of mechanical devices, acting as a second care provider.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Experience working with seniors is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate warmly and effectively with residents, families, and visitors.
- Sensitivity and empathy towards residents' needs.
