Job summary

The Louis Brier Home and Hospital in Vancouver is seeking a Food Services Worker to support meal service for residents, from preparing dishes to delivering meals with a smile. You will work as part of a friendly team, handling trays, serving meals, washing dishes and performing light clerical tasks in a casual shift.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or equivalent education, training or experience.
• Food Safe Certification.
• Healthcare experience is an asset; dishwashing experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Sets up meal trays with condiments, utensils and napkins; loads, delivers and unloads meal service wagons.
• Pours, serves and handles food/beverages in dining room or cafeteria; operates cash register as required.
• Counts, weighs and measures ingredients for the prep area.
• Makes beverages and basic foods; assembles sandwiches and salads.
• Washes, peels and stores vegetables and fruit.
• Washes dishes and utensils; sets and clears dining tables.
• Cleans floors, counters, and equipment; removes garbage as required.
• Performs clerical duties such as answering the phone and checking cards against lists.
