Job summary

The Louis Brier Home and Hospital in Vancouver is seeking a Housekeeping and Laundry Aide to maintain clean, safe environments for residents across private rooms, lounges and public areas.

You will perform floor care, dusting, bathroom cleaning, bed making and laundry duties, including sorting, washing and distributing linens; Grade 10 education and related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 education required.
• Related housekeeping or laundry experience preferred.
• Building Service Worker certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and damp-mop floors, vacuum carpets, dust and polish furniture, clean bathrooms and make beds in residents' rooms, Assisted Living suites, public lounges and offices.
• Laundry duties include operating machines and dryers, sorting and cleaning linen, including personal laundry of residents, and distributing clean items to user areas.

Overview of Position:

The Housekeeping and Laundry Aide will be responsible for sweeping, damp-mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, dusting and polishing furniture, cleaning bathrooms and making beds. Areas where cleaning tasks are carried out include residents' rooms, Assisted Living suites, public lounges and bathrooms, offices, and meeting rooms. As Laundry Worker, duties include operating machines and dryers, collecting, sorting and cleaning linen including personal laundry of residents, and folding, sorting and distributing clean items to user areas.

Requirements for the position include Grade 10. Related experience and a Building Service Worker certificate preferred.
